The Port Museum also contributes to scientific research. Several of its agents regularly take part in meetings, training and round table discussions and do scientific work themselves.
The museum also organises symposiums, in partnership with the academic world. These events revolve around an exhibition or theme that is in the spotlight in a given year. The museum hosts these events in its 110-seat auditorium and helps to publish the proceedings.
Finally, for the exhibitions, various catalogues and works are published for and by the museum. Some of these are small publications, but there are also much more ambitious works bringing together the most eminent experts in history, the applied sciences, geography and fine art.
